Choose Slidr if
- You already subscribe to Setapp, where Slidr is included.
- Volume and brightness on the edges are all you need.
Choose Haptiker if
- You want the keyboard backlight on the trackpad too, along the top edge.
- You want a full week to try every feature before paying.
- You want brightness to follow whichever screen your cursor is on.
- You are on macOS 12 Monterey. Slidr needs macOS 13 or later.
- You like the details: gesture guards that ignore scrolls and mid-pad swipes, haptic ticks, fine control, double-tap to mute and a cursor that stays put while you adjust.
Try both
Both apps have a free trial, so the simplest test is to install each one and use it for a day. Haptiker's trial needs no account or card. See all options on the alternatives page.
